It's been a trying week in every possible way, and, in the middle of it all was my own version of "Big" (referring to the Chris Noth character on Sex and the City). My own version of Mr. Big had a birthday this week, and, of course, being the good friend I am, I tried to do everything right. And, in true "Big" form, I got a dig of sarcasm for my efforts. It wouldn't be so bad, but, I really did try to make everything perfect for him, but, sometimes the best laid plans (no pun intended, we don't do that - anymore) fall to the wayside due to work commitments.
I also hurt another friend because of my work commitments and sometimes I feel like my life is spiraling out of control. And, to my other friend - whom I hurt this week, if you happen to read this - again my apologies. I hope you read your email...
Anyhow, my own Mr Big and I made up and laughed about this week. The truth is his schedule is worse than mine, but, was reminded that I am to circle the weekend of November 14th in red letters. It's a weekend we've been planning since Spring time - my birthday weekend which includes going to the theater and finally getting to see Billy Elliott and dinner is still up in the air, but, 21 is a real possibility at this point. However, when it comes to my own Mr. Big all bets are off. When we were dating it wasn't unusual to have such plans in place only to have them tossed into the wind and we'd be off to Atlantic City or some other destination on nothing more than a whim.
I miss those days when my life wasn't so complicated, no so jammed packed I literally carry around a daily planner and breath a sigh of relief if I have 15 minutes to myself... Speaking of which, I need to wrap this up because yep, you guessed it - I have a work related meeting in about 30 minutes.
Can someone stop the world for a minute? I want to get off!

Sex and the City 2 , where to go to eat on Friday, and other thoughts
I just spoke with the guy I went out on the date with over the weekend, he is on the mend but still battling a cold, and, we're going out again this Friday (dinner and a movie), he's letting me pick the restaurant, but, I'm not sure where we should go. I'm reading menupages but, haven't seen anything that really knocks me out yet. We will probably go see The Ugly Truth the movies this summer haven't been overwhelmingly interesting.
Speaking of movies, I cannot believe the turn out they had for the new Sex and the City 2 casting call. It never ceases to amaze me who thinks they are good looking, I mean the egos on some people are just outrageous! Rumor has it that the new movie will be out in 2010 so that's something we fans have something to look forward to in the not so distant future.
Other than that, a pretty mundane Tuesday for me. Fingers crossed I'm not getting sick, I have a terrible headache...

SWF 42 - Traveling, Overpacking and my Christian Louboutins - once again I feel like Carrie Bradshaw
I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I'm worse today, and, feel like death warmed over. If it means the cold is at it's peak, then it's a good thing. If it means I could still feel this way tomorrow, I'm in trouble since I am flying tomorrow night. Fever is up, bad chills, stuffy head, running nose, the works. You know the feeling. I stayed home from work.So now that you have my health update. I am beginning to get things ready to pack for my trip, and, I'm the type that always over packs for any vacation. One thing I will never travel without is at least one pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. I LOVE his things, and, since they are so very expensive, I only buy one pair per year, usually during a heavy duty clearance sale. I'm having a hard time deciding which pair of CL shoes to pack. I have that wonderfully fun pair of pink petal sandals, AND, I actually have the perfect dress to compliment them. However, I keep wondering if black peep toe pumps wouldn't be more versatile. I suppose I could pack both, but, I always have it in the back of my mind, what happens if my luggage gets lost or misplaced? Will I ever see my shoes again?
I haven't had a chance to wear the pink petal sandals yet and this does seem to be presenting itself as the perfect opportunity. I have to laugh at myself, this seems so very Carrie and Mr Big (referring to Sex and the City in the Eposides where Carrie is wisked away to Paris by Aleksandr Petrovsky only to be chased down by Mr. Big at the end.) Alas, I know my own Mr. Big will not be chasing after me, and, I am ok with that since he will always be part of my life with or without my love interest. However, it doesn't make this trip any less romantic or exciting.
So how is this overpacker going to manage to make a decision? Right now, I don't have a clue but, once I figure it all out, I will let you know!
